Coleman, Staats Announce More Than $1.2 Million in State Small Water and Sewer Infrastructure Funding for Bucks County

HARRISBURG – Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16) and Rep. Craig Staats (R-145) today announced more than $1.2 million in state grant funding to support Bucks County small water and sewer infrastructure projects in their legislative districts. The funding was administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

“These improvements will help municipalities operate their water systems more efficiently while easing costs for local residents,” Coleman said. “They represent smart, long-term investments in the infrastructure our communities rely on every day.”

“These grants support the kind of infrastructure work that keeps our communities running day in and day out,” Staats said. “Upgrading water systems, wastewater facilities and fire protection is not flashy work, but it is essential. I am glad to see Commonwealth Financing Authority funding directed to local projects.”

The following approved projects received funding from the state Small Water and Sewer Program:

Riegelsville Borough was awarded $238,653 for its public water supply emergency generator project.

East Rockhill Township was awarded $210,000 for the refurbishment of its waste water treatment plant south aeration tank.

Telford Borough Authority was awarded $389,114 for the county line road low pressure system grinder pumps purchase project.

Springtown Water Authority was awarded $419,665 for improvements to its fire protection and water distribution systems.

The PA Small Water and Sewer Program provides grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for water, sewer, storm water and flood control projects and is overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
