HARRISBURG – Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16) announced the approval of nearly $5.2 million in Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for area projects in Bucks and Lehigh counties.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Act allocates proceeds from online gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth.
“These are vital projects for the people I represent here in the 16th Senatorial District,” Coleman said. “Ensuring that local priorities get the attention and funding they deserve goes a long way toward keeping our communities safe and vibrant. I’m proud to have supported these projects, which will continue to strengthen our neighborhoods for years to come.”
The following projects are receiving support through this round of funding:
Bucks County
Bedminster Township received $139,798 to implement a police drone search and rescue program.
Borough of Perkasie, on behalf of Revivals Outreach Center, received $149,939 to purchase a fully-equipped food truck which would allow Revivals to mobilize its soup kitchen and food rescue program.
Bucks County Industrial Development Authority, on behalf of the Housing Development Authority, received $91,759 to complete full mill-and-overlay asphalt resurfacing and restriping at two parking areas in Bensalem Township and Perkasie Borough.
Hilltown Township Water and Sewer Authority received $128,392 to replace an influent screen at its wastewater treatment plant.
Pennridge Regional Police Department received $80,453 to purchase an upfitted police vehicle and trailer.
Quakertown Borough, on behalf of the Quakertown Fire Department, received $212,936 to replace and upgrade primary hydraulic tools on Rescue-18, the department’s primary rescue response vehicle.
Riegelsville Borough received $511,482 to complete a water system lead service line investigation borough-wide.
Sellersville Borough received $541,851 for phase I of the Druckenmiller Playground Rehabilitation Project.
Silverdale Borough, on behalf of the Silver Volunteer Fire Company, received $900,000 to replace a 25-year-old apparatus with a new, state-of-the-art fire engine.
Springfield Township received $214,084 to purchase a dump truck with plow and spreader attachments.
Lehigh County
Allentown City received:
- $375,000 to replace the Allentown Fire Department’s 15-year-old bomb robot with a new EOD variant robot.
- $200,000 to conduct a feasibility study to assess converting several high-injury one-way streets near downtown into two-way corridors to improve safety, circulation and neighborhood connectivity.
Lehigh Valley Economic Investment Corporation, on behalf of Kidspeace Corporation, received $100,000 for the rehabilitation of the Orchard Hills campus wastewater treatment facility in North Whitehall Township.
Lowhill Township received $100,000 for the construction of a salt shed.
North Whitehall Township received $100,000 to purchase a single-axle dump truck with uplift components such as a snowplow, backup camera system, electric tarp and storage accessories.
South Whitehall Township received $350,000 to replace an older engine 3 with a new, modern fire engine for the Centronia Volunteer Fire Department.
Upper Milford Township, on behalf of Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. No. 1, received $1 million for phase I of building a new fire house.
The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and administers the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
