HARRISBURG – Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16) and Rep. Craig Staats (R-145) announced today that Richland Township will receive $652,096 in Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) funding to support upgrades to the recreational facilities at the Robert O. Keller Park. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
Upgrades will include the replacement of the softball field backstop, as well as the replacement of the basketball poles and backboards. Additionally, the park’s eight pickleball courts, which have developed significant surface cracking, will be completely reconstructed and site amenities will be replaced. The project also includes the replacement of the lighting surrounding the pickleball courts to enhance safety and visibility.
“Keller Park is enjoyed by many families and seniors in our area,” Coleman said. “This major investment prioritizes improved safety for all who visit and ensures the park remains an asset to our community for years to come.”
“This investment in Keller Park is great news for Richland Township,” Staats said. “Upgrading these facilities will make the park safer, more accessible and more enjoyable for families, kids and seniors who use it every day. I’m glad to see funding directed toward projects that strengthen our local communities.”
Additional area LSA projects also approved today include:
Bridgeton Township received $31,910 to purchase a solar powered matrix message board and two solar powered radar traffic signs with data collection capabilities to help combat illegal truck traffic and speeding in residential and commercial areas.
Pennridge Regional Police Department was awarded $25,000 to purchase and install six in-car cameras and 15 body-worn cameras.
The LSA program distributes gaming revenue to economic development projects. LSA funds are distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
