Coleman, UBCTS to Host Career and Technical Education Expo Oct. 9

QUAKERTOWN – Middle and high school students and their families are invited to sign-up to attend Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16) and Upper Bucks County Technical School’s (UBCTS) Career and Technical Education Expo on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., at UBCTS, 3115 Ridge Rd. in Perkasie.

“As students enter high school, they are faced with having to decide in what manner they will join the workforce in the future,” Coleman said. “This can come as a real challenge for them, which is why our career and technical education expo serves as a valuable resource. This expo gives students the opportunity to have in-person discussions with exhibitors representing various job fields and gain guidance as to what career path they ultimately want to follow.”

This event is also being coordinated in partnership with Reps. Shelby Labs (R-143) and Craig Staats (R-145).

“Career and technical education equips students with real-world skills that lead to meaningful careers and strong communities,” said Labs. “I am proud to partner with Senator Coleman and Representative Staats to support this expo and the opportunities it offers students and families across Upper Bucks.”

“Our community is fortunate to have strong career and technical education programs that prepare students for real opportunities,” Staats said. “This expo gives families a chance to see the many paths available and to connect with the people who help make those futures possible.”

This informational event serves as a starting point for area students to speak directly with career and trade-job exhibitors.

Executive Director Dr. Michael Herrera will also be in attendance to discuss UBCTS’s educational programs.

“UBCTS is proud to partner with employers and community leaders to strengthen our region’s workforce,” Herrera said. “This expo highlights the powerful role of career and technical education in preparing students for in-demand careers that support thriving communities”

Exhibitors cover multiple program areas of the Career and Technical Education curriculum including and not limited to Computer Science, Construction, Transportation, Human Services, Agriculture, Advanced Manufacturing, Culinary, Life & Health Services, and Advanced Manufacturing.
