HARRISBURG – Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-Bucks, Lehigh) and Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) announced that multiple projects throughout Bucks County in the 16th District received grant funding from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account (LSA) program.
The projects that received funding are as follows:
- $91,861 for Pennridge Regional Police Department to purchase a new police vehicle and equipment upgrades in West Rockhill Township. Specifically, the department will implement a traffic safety plan to reduce speeding and other unsafe driving behavior. The department responded to 303 traffic accidents in 2022, which was a 10% increase in crash responses. In addition, the grant will purchase one All Traffic Solutions radar speed display board, one All Traffic Solutions traffic count and classification collection device, and A 2023 Ford F150 Pickup Truck.
- $82,361 for Pennridge Regional Police for building improvements in West Rockhill Township to include new data collection and storage systems and a secure interview room with a video surveillance system.
- $28,850 for Springfield Township to purchase speed radar boards to assist police in reducing injury and fatal traffic accidents.
The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for these grants.
“Ensuring our police have the equipment they need to promote public safety and safe driving is critical,” said Coleman. “These grants will help communities in need and be a benefit to all our citizens.”
“These grants will help our local police departments purchase or upgrade necessary equipment to keep our streets safe,” said Staats. “This will ensure road safety in our communities and keep citizens safe.”
